Newcastle Port Pulse is being developed as a showcase of multi-media talent, creating a useful local service that could be recreated to make local news more accessible and cheaper, and introduce fun projects, ideas or people along the way!
How it will work
Youtube will be the launching area for the online radio station. Initially programming will be pre-recorded and posted on a schedule. Then work to automate reports like traffic, weather, or news updates to increase the idea from pre-recorded to 24/7 live and online. Finally, pre-recorded and live presentations will be included as part of the broadcast schedule to highlight local talent/ideas or introduce creative concepts.
What comes next
Some basic branding and placeholder accounts have been created. Up next is the first broadcast!
