What it is
The Department of Dubious Demarcations is a field-based transmedia world built around real places, researched local history, ecology, and the occasional completely indefensible addition to the official record.
The factual material stays sourced and distinguishable from the fiction; the fictional layer arrives through strange folklore, invented bureaucracy, visual gags, characters, maps, field reports, and the administrative oversight of the Bureaucratic MooseGoose.
How the world spreads
A single location can become a short-form expedition, longer behind-the-scenes material, a written field report, a real-history companion, an interactive map, a species-discovery layer through the real-world Pokédex, photographs, props, and character/cosplay material.
Each medium should reveal something useful or entertaining that the others do not simply repeat.
Current direction
The project is developing its repeatable expedition format, first published locations, character files, field-guide integration, interactive mapping, and a growing Department archive at its Root & Render world hub.
